Ribes de Freser, August 26, 2025 – The Pyrenees Stage Run (PSR) is ready to kick off a new edition. From August 31 to September 6, 140 runners from around the world will cross the Catalan Pyrenees in a stage race that combines sport, nature and camaraderie.

The race will officially start on Sunday, August 31 in Ribes de Freser, following the participants’ pre-race meeting with the organization and volunteers on Saturday 30. Over seven stages, 220km and 15000m of uphill, runners will cross five natural parks, including the Madriu-Perafita-Claror Valley in Andorra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici National Park, before finishing in Salardú (Val d’Aran) on September 6.

The Pyrenees Stage Run is renowned for its family-like, friendly atmosphere, where runners, volunteers and the organization share much more than just the effort of the race. Each afternoon, after the stage, participants enjoy a space for community and exchange, sharing experiences, stories and unforgettable moments, turning the PSR into a collective adventure.

This year, the race features 66 teams of 2 or 3 runners, a format that encourages teamwork and solidarity in the mountains. Women represent 35% of the participants, a remarkable percentage for a multi-day mountain race.

The international scope of the PSR is reflected in the 22 nationalities represented. Among them, the United Kingdom (20 runners), Germany (19), the Netherlands (17), the United States (11), Austria (10) and Australia (10) stand out. This diversity consolidates the Pyrenees Stage Run as one of the most international and unique events on the trail running calendar.

With the first stage between Ribes de Freser and Núria, the Pyrenees Stage Run 2025 will kick off this Sunday with the energy and enthusiasm that define it, ready to deliver seven days of true mountain adventure.

The Pyrenees Stage Run is organised by BiFree Sports, a company with extensive experience in organising stage races. In addition to the Brama, they also manage the Costa Brava Stage Run and the Brama Stage Run, events that stand out for offering a unique experience of adventure and challenge in spectacular natural environments. As always, the support of the technical sports clothing brand Tuga Active Wear has been fundamental, as has the institutional backing of the Patronat de Turisme Costa Brava Pirineu de Girona, contributing to the success and projection of the event.
